Nymph collection is further proof of Atelier Karaka’s path of intimacy with nature. It is inspired by the lichens that tattoo the trees in the forests, often misunderstood and despised, but whose life is fascinating and essential to biodiversity. This discreet but powerful flora sets the tone for a clothing collection in which flowing, kimono-style jackets are the key pieces, alongside scarves, head bands and scrunchies.
Exploring a larger-scale design for the first time, we meet craftsman Raul Rocha who, with exquisite precision, uses a Singer machine he adapted to cut out real works of art in wood. Thanks to his mastery, we were able to obtain a large stamp that we used to emboss the backs of the kimonos.
